• A career within Actuarial Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third-party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help to analyze the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet, or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.

• The successful candidate can be based in Beijing/Shanghai and will be working on projects in Mainland China.

• Engage in large scale client engagements. Consistently deliver quality client services. Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes. Assist on monitoring progress, and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.

• Understand PwC and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.

• Demonstrate deep actuarial technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate the ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge. Remain current on new regulations concerning the Insurance industry.

• Demonstrate an understanding of complex actuarial concepts, discuss complex issues with the engagement team and client management, keep informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., Actuarial Standards of Practice), and effectively apply this knowledge to client situations.

• Engage in key roles of actuarial advisory projects related to IFRS implementation, risk management, valuation and reporting, modeling, and others. and actively participate in business development activities including the preparation of proposals and presentations.

• University education or above, and at least 1-5 years of working experiences in actuarial consulting firm or insurers.

• Skilled user of at least one type of actuarial software, preferably Prophet or Axis. Other coding skills including Python, SQL, VBA is a plus.

• Knowledge of Valuation, Embedded Value, Economic Capital, Solvency II . IFRS17 experiences are highly preferred.

• Strong client management and project management skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and good influencing skills

• Good problem solving and decision-making skills.

• Well organized and a team player

• Studying an internationally recognized actuarial qualification.

• Fluent in English and Chinese
